Long time

Back in February I had started writing an update blog, and had started planning content for March and the beginning of April. The first post I had planned was a big update about my life and then I was gonna do a couple of pregnancy-related post and plan a couple of posts for when baby would arrive.

But things didn’t go according to plan. Our sweet baby-girl came 5 weeks early, so we were pretty unprepared, and I had not made any of the content I had wanted to have ready.

Needless to say I’ve been quite busy these past few months. But as my maternity-leave is coming to it’s end, and I’m gonna have to start looking for a new job. I figured now would be a good time to start up this blog again.

Let’s start with what happened over the past two years.

Last I posted on here, my boyfriend and I were looking to move in together in my grandparents’ old house.
During the summer of 2017, we spent all our time and money renovating the bathroom (I might make a blog post about the whole process later this month). End of September 2017 we then finally moved in.
Consequently, I also found a (part-time)job two weeks before the big move was planned. Those were some of the biggest changes that happened shortly after I dropped off the online world.

The beginning of 2018 was pretty uneventful in comparison with 2017. I did start to overcome my fear of driving and had a couple of driving lessons. A year on and I still don’t have my license, although I don’t get a panic attack anymore sitting behind the wheel, I’m still not ready confident enough to really drive around much.

The second half of 2018, on the other hand, has been a whirlwind. After working 9 months on weekly based contracts, I got offered a 6-month contract.

And in June we stopped using any type of birth control. After that, I got pregnant really quick (I had my last period beginning of July, which we did not think things were gonna go that fast, but just goes to show you never know with these things.

Overall 2018 was a really good year, it did end on a bit of a downer, as my contract ended and I did not get a renewal. So that was a bit of a bummer heading into December. But despite that little hiccup, we made the best of our last holidays without a baby.

Us three

The beginning of 2019 started off pretty slowly. I had a bit of a clearout of the kitchen and started planning the baby room.

Needless to say, we were caught by surprise when our baby girl decided to arrive 5 weeks early. Nothing was quite finished yet.

So when I got home from the hospital, since Irthe was 5 weeks early she had to stay a bit longer in the hospital,  it was a bit of a rush to get things a bit more ready.

We’re now 14 weeks later and we are slowly getting in some kind of routine. My house is still a mess 80% of the time and most of the day I’m either feeding or entertaining our 14week old girl. But that’s life with a baby. I’ll finish this post with that since she’s waking up so she’ll probably need my boobs soon.

I’ll give you guys an update about my pregnancy and the first 3 months with a baby in a different post, so keep your eyes peeled for those.
