January catch-up
I don’t like January, most days it’s grey and very dreary and not even that cold (at least this year it felt more like autumn then winter). And did I mention it seems to go on forever?
Therefore I am kinda glad it’s almost over.
I’m hoping for a few cold weeks in February even with some snow (just for a couple of days though, this country does not function well when there is snow). And then spring can come around, and we can be done with the grey drab days and the snotty noses.
I did some workshops during November/December to help me figure out what type of job I want to be doing since I’m still looking for a new job after being let go last year. It told me what I already knew, but did show me that I was ready to have adult conversations some more, instead of constantly talking to my 10month old.
So I have a job interview this Thursday (the first one in a very long time, so wish me luck). It would only be a part-time job for 7 months. But it would sure beat staying at home.
I loved being able to stay home with Irthe this long. And part of me wouldn’t mind staying home full-time. But financially it would be so much easier if I had a bigger income.
I had planned some content for December, but workshops and a sick baby meant I didn’t even have time to do laundry, let alone create content. I even disappeared from Instagram halfway through December.
Since then I’ve just been muddling along. Forever tidying the house and doing laundry. We did have another move around with some furniture and I’m planning on painting the kitchen sometime this spring. So I’ll be updating you guys about that when it happens.
Once I get my house in a somewhat clean state I’ll even do a house tour. I also have to start planning Irthe’s first birthday, which is coming pretty soon. Although we’re probably not going to do anything big and fancy. We did that when she was a couple of months old. I might share some pictures from that day as well, and some tips on organising a baby drink.
So those are my plans for the future. I am now off to hopefully enjoy my evening a bit. And ignore the mess in the kitchen and piles of laundry that needs doing. As somebody didn’t want to nap today (except on top of me) so nothing got done today. But those days happen sometimes and I’ve learned to just go with them.
